Root Canal Therapy
Root canals get a bad rap, but don't believe the rumors; the dreaded root canal isn't dreadful at all! Root canals are needed when either decay or an injury infects the inner tooth (the pulp). In the earliest stages of infection, you may not feel any pain at all. But as it progresses, you could have a toothache and swelling. An abscess may even form around the roots of the teeth. Do not be fooled if you have experienced some severe pain for a while and it has finally gone away. Many times people will think that the problem is solved, when in fact it is just getting worse. Root canals remove the infection of the tooth and help prevent the infection from spreading.
